Hey guys, I recently discovered the usage of “Nivea After Shave balm for sensitive skin” as a face primer from the very famous “Nikkietutorials” on Youtube. Initially, when I watched the video for the 1st time it came as a shock to me, and I was like how can someone use an after shave as a makeup primer? especially considering the fact that most after shaves out there are pretty harsh on skin due to the alcohol content in them, but, after several trials and usage I would like to put all your apprehensions about using an after shave as a face primer to rest through this review.
As you might be knowing from my makeup tutorials that I was using the ever so famous “The benefit professional” primer earlier which was not available in India so I have to buy it online from international websites. It was both challenging as well expensive until I found Nivea After Shave as the face primer. The packaging is simple yet classic in a glass bottle. It has moderately thick consistency, white fluidy gel and smells faintly of musk. I like the fragrance but even if you don’t like it there is nothing much to worry as it subsides within minutes of its application on the skin. It’s super easy to blend into the skin and gives you a cool sensations. It’s definitely a bit sticky on the skin and that’s the key reason why this works perfect as a face primer. The stickiness doesn’t linger on for long. Once you have applied a light coat of foundation, it feels like you are wearing your normal primer.
The results are amazing and my makeup stays intact all day. Quite literally! and best part is that even if I am using inexpensive foundation and blush (which use to fade within 2 hours on me) my makeup stayed there for 6-12 hours. So in respect of the makeup staying put all day, this makeup primer does a wonderful job. It also keeps the oil away from my face so if my makeup is matte it keeps it like that all day.
Overall, if you haven’t tried this product I will highly recommend it to you all. Even if you are not into makeup use this primer before applying your sunscreen so that it helps to keep your SPF cream at place. It’s easily available for Rs 200-230 at department stores, chemist shops and so many other places. You can also buy it online as well from Amazon, Flipkart and Nykaa.
