Hi guys! Its Divya. I know by now we all have been hit by the first summer rays. Every weather is harsh but summers being especially harsh on the skin as the heat stimulates the skin’s oil glands and makes the skin oily. With age comes responsibilty and also the wisdom of understanding your skin and body. I at 23 have finally understood what my skin type is and what it needs. I felt the need to say that because most of us are ignorant of our skin and do not follow a cleansing routine. Cleansing the skin helps you clear out the old dead skin that has accumulated and clears out your face of the dead cells giving way to new clear skin. Incorporate these 5 in your daily routine.
EXFOLIATION– Exfolaite at least once or twice a week to unclog pores and increase absorption. The cream/ointment applied after will seep deep into the skin and nourish finally provide the much needed nourishment. Mix a tbsp of coffee(instant) with 1/2 tbsp of milk, scrub it all over your face and leave it on for 20 minutes.

FACE MASK– apply a cooling face mask at the end of your tedious day. Choose a cooling mask that also absorbs the excess oil off your face. Multani mitti mixed with rose water or cold water is the best, try out inatur’s herbal d-tanning face mask. Flatten out cotton(make 2 tiny circular pads) dip these in either cold water or rose water and put it on your eyes.

SUNSCREEN– I can’t emphasize enough on using sunscreen to protect your skin against the UV rays. No matter what your skin colour, apply sunscreen to avoid premature aging and reducing the risk of skin cancer. Lather on a sunscreen with SPF 40 or 50 before stepping out of the house.

DO NOT AVOID YOUR LIPS– Scrub off the dead skin off your lips for smooth pink lips. Why to include your lips in in your daily cleansing routine? the skin on the lips is lighter than the rest of the face and hence easily damaged. Apply a thick coat of vaseline on the lips and use your brush to gently brush on the lips to get rid of dried dead skin. Finally apply a generous coating of a lip balm with SPF 15 or 20 before stepping out.

TONER– A toner wipes out all the dust and dirt that sticks to your skin when travelling around. It will enhance moisture absorption and restore the natural PH levels. Use twice a day, once before sleeping and one after waking up in the morning after washing your face with a gentle face wash.
