This is Divya again. I am a 23 year old woman, supposedly in her prime. With scarce supply of men(not trying to objectify men) in my life as my college had next to none as I was in a design college and same goes for the professional environment. I hence resorted to join tinder(in college) and hinge(3 months back) to dip my toes in the dating pool. The dating app that revamped the dating scene in India was TINDER, with every third person jumping on the bandwagon and making an account(or fake) to see what the hullabaloo is about. SINGLE, DIVORCED, MOTHER OF 2, FATHER OF 2? Everybody is on tinder and other similar dating apps. You don’t find your subsequent other’s strolling around the bookstore or the market or the THEKA anymore and with the introduction of dating apps in our country we all including me prefer to find somebody online. You get to know the person a little before meeting them so you have things to talk about when you meet for the first time. You will find a variety of men(lurking around) on these dating apps, ranging from the JHALLI ROMEO’S to WOMANIZER’s and the CREEPS. I think WOMEN are very judgemental and selective about the men they swipe right for unlike men who swipe right for every woman thinking out of 10 at least one would match.

My most recent debacle of a date asked me to hold his hand, this was the first time I ever met him. SIGH! When he didn’t budge I grabbed his other hand and placed it on the open palm.
I don’t know if I look like a psychiatrist that men feel its ok to share their most disturbing information with me. One of my matches claimed to be into incest(liked his sister), would look for women who looked like her. This creeped me right out! I will emphasise on CREEPED ME out and then he blocked me after AFTER sharing this lovely information with me, only to text me a month later. I wish I had a screen shot of this but sigh Such is life.
